ABC Cancels 'Roseanne' After Star's Racist Tweet

ABC has canceled hit series "Roseanne" following a racist tweet from its titular star.

ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey released a statement announcing the surprising news Tuesday afternoon, saying:

"Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show."

The cancellation comes on the heels of a tweet sent out by star Roseanne Barr on Tuesday morning, in which she made racist comments about a former Obama administration official, Valerie Jarrett, referencing the Muslim Brotherhood and "Planet of the Apes."

This is a breaking news story. This story will be updated with more information as it becomes available.
